Product Description |
In a nutshell: If you want as gentle an introduction as possible to the world of Wii then this user-friendly compilation of mini-games is just the thing for you, with a collection of games that are as easy to play as they are fun.The lowdown: It might be easy to use but the Wii is still a pretty unusual beast and a bit of a culture shock from the overly complex controllers of other consoles. This compilation of mini-games aims to ease you in gently with simple to play games that only need the Wii Remote to enjoy. These include games of table tennis, air hockey (or Laser Hockey as the game would have it) and an updated of NES classic Duck Hunt. There's also Wii Billiards, a fishing sim and a number of games which use your customised Mii Channel character, including Wii Pose and the Where's Wally style Find Mii. Since many of these games have a multiplayer mode the game also comes bundled with an extra Remote (but not a nunchuck), which usually sells for £29.99 separately. Most exciting moment: Although all of the games are fun the best one is probably the Duck Hunt update (which also has you shooting UFOs and other non-avian enemies). Perhaps what's most exciting about it is that it proves how good other light gun franchises, such as Virtua Cop and Time Crisis would be on the Wii. Since you ask: Many of the mini-games included with Wii Play, such as Duck Hunt and Table Tennis, were first seen as technical demos at the E3 trade conference in May 2006, when the Wii was first revealed in playable form. The bottom line: The beginner's guide to Wii, with a handy extra controller. - HARRISON DENT |

I bought this pretty much only for the Wii remote. So that part of it is good...
the game is simple for someone who has never used the Wii remote before. Or for a very young child. My 4 year old niece enjoyed it.
Buy it if you want a new remote, might aswel get a game at the same time for no extra cost! |

Wii play is a compilation of mini games which get you used to using the wiimote controller system. In total there is 9 games, these include :
fishing
shooting
table tennis
air hockey
racing
fit the gap game
find the mii game
billiards
tanks
===gameplay===
The games are a good way of getting used to the wii controller system and you soon pick up the different techniques quite quickly. They are quite addictive and the co-op means the games can become quite competitive, the games do only last a short amount of time , and i often found myself playing them 2 or three times as i then felt the game was done.
===graphics===
The graphics in this game are very simple , but nice too look at. The main reason for this is that its really just a tutorial disc and not a real 'go out and buy it game' however it does what it needs to well.
===sounds===
The sounds in the games are good and represent the games well , none of the sounds feel out of the place , although its rather repetitive and the background track can be rather irritating.
===price===
The price of the game is mainly down to the fact that it comes with a wiimote and the actual game is probably worth only 3-4 pound, however its a nice add-on , a game plus a wiimote to play it with.
===overall===
As i said , this game is a tutorial disc , theres no storyline or objectives, its just a nice introduction to the ways of the wii mote. |

| Not too impressed with this item I'm afraid, it was very expensive for an incredibly limited game, though the item with controller was good. |
Bargain buy.

| I bought these two things as a package deal, really was a bargain from Amazon, the remote is absolutely brilliant really gives you the feel for the games. Wii Play is really good for the kids and adults alike too. |
