| After much research we chose this baby monitor and are so glad we did! It had never let us down, and would recommend it to others. Its pretty compact so doesnt take up a huge amount of space either in the nursery or in our room. Its pretty sensitive and can pick up most sounds without being over the top. We havent used the musical bits as our daughter uses a projector which has lullabys on it, however all other aspects are pretty great. Really handy having a temperature bit built in too, saves any worry. My only improvement would be that the portable bit could last a bit longer when out of the charger. |
unreliable!!!

I have purchased this monitor some 5 months ago and for past months it's back with the 'seller' who is trying to send it back to Avent for checks.
The biggest issue is 'loss of connection' making this monitor utterly useless.

when buying a baby monitor where do you start so we asked around people who have had them and most said the Philips was good so we Brought this item last august 09 when on offer.
baby arrived in January this year (2010) been really good we live in an old house with thick stone walls and the signal was really good all the time.No problems with the range no interference done a GREAT JOB up until now. we had a fault on this one kept turning off so GOOD OLD Amazon sent us out a brand new one so hopefully fingers crossed IT WAS JUST ONE OFF THEM THINGS there are more expensive ones out there but at the end of the day this DOES EVERYTHING YOU really need also the quality is really good as you would expect from a Philips Product.it looks nice and both units run off rechargeable battery's or the mains so a plus there it plays music 5 different lullaby's and has a night light and this model also has a temperature monitor and you can set the temperature range alarm so baby doesn't get to hot so my advice is when you buy this is read the instructions and have a play with it its got some cool functions. basically does what it says on the tin . |
And then some

Pros
+ good, clear sound
+ steady structure
+ easy to use and to look at
Cons
- evidently has no noise gate, since it delivers static through continuously
- the satellite monitor is rather big of size which narrows some options for use
User bug
- should have anticipated that the device comes with UK outlets which naturally are not compatible here in Scandinavia |
Very Pleased with this...

| Really glad I got this product for my new baby. Complete piece of mind as the monitor is very sensitive to the tiniest of noises. Once set up, the temp. sensor will bleep on the parent unit to let you know if the room is too hot or cold for baby. The parent unit also bleeps a warning if the batteries are low or it has lost contact with baby's sending unit. The parent handset is nice & compact so ideal to clip onto your clothes / put next to the bed when you are in a different room to baby. The rechargable batteries easily last through the evening & overnight. The mute function also very helpful if baby gets upset when you first put them to bed - much less stressful than hearing baby cry initially - but don't leave it on mute :) Baby's monitor has a sensible length of flex to ensure it can be plugged into a nearby socket - it also takes batteries so it will continue to work even if there is a power cut! I get absolutely no interference / white noise on the parent receiver unit - an excellent product! Shop around though for the best price at the time. |
