| The idea of sterilising everything before I had a baby was so daunting but this product is so easy to use and now I find sterilising a doddle. I would recommend although I've not tried any other sterilisers. |
Agree with other positive reviews

Not much to add to other positive reviews. Very easy to use and does what it says on the box; sterilises bottles! Quite easy to take apart to clean too and two of the little shelves make a case to put teats/smaller parts into the dishwasher.
I have found it easy to fit other brand bottles into the steriliser too (although granted the shelves are not moulded to other bottles sizes so you need to just place them on). |
Am I missing the Point ?

We bought this when our little bundle of joy came along and I can say it's simple to use and does exactly what it says on the tin, however I think I've missed something here.
Our health visitor has told us that the 'new way of thinking & NHS advice' is to make the bottles up as you go immediately before the feed and not make a few in advance and store them in the fridge as per days of yesteryear.
I hate to point out the obvious here.......but..........you can sterilize numerous bottles at a time which can stay sterile for upto 24hours......AS LONG AS YOU DON'T REMOVE THE LID.....As soon as you remove the lid to take out the one bottle that you need the others in there are no longer sterile which means you have to repeat the whole process everytime you make up a bottle which makes this the biggest waste of money ever.
My advice is buy the single bottle sterilizer that goes in the microwave and that way you'll only sterilize the bottle you actually need rather than wasting all that energy sterilizing numerous bottles that you'll need to re-sterilize over and over again
I've given this 3 stars, but I think that's me being generous as I really don't see the need or requirement to sterilize more than one bottle at a time unless you're a nursery or have given birth to multiple babies
The men in white coats at Philips need to rethink this and design a new one that is based on a single bottle as this will be more useful to 99% of the population.
Hope this helps

| We were given this as a gift. It does the job very adequately and we have no problems with it at all. If I had to choose now I would get the microwave steriliser - it is cheaper, smaller, takes the same number of bottles, is faster to operate and stays sterile for longer if unopened. The only advantage to this is you can fit in larger items - we have a few 250ml Medela breastmilk bottles and they do not fit in the smaller unit (not an issue if you have only Avent bottles.) You will get both models cheaper than here if you wait until they are half price at the supermarket. |
