| To descale this or electric kettle buy citric acid from a home brew shop. It may not be on display you may have to ask for it. A teaspoon added to a kettle of water and boiled gets rid of our lime scale. Rinse out afterwards otherwise the tea will taste foul! |
Dangerous and pointless

Steam sterilising of bottles containing BPA is not safe.
Sterilising generally is totally unnecessary in modern countries and stems from the time when the water supply was much worse.
It's all marketing hype and in the case of stream sterilising you're actually doing more harm than good.
BPA is linked with diabetes etc.
Buy a cold water steriliser if you really have to.
As a basic kettle element it constantly scales up.
It always takes longer than they say.
You see the name "Philips" and you think quality German engineering, which it isn't.

I love a boiled egg for breakfast and to find something that cooks them so efficiently is brilliant...
Not runny and not too hard, the 6 minute cycle cooks medium sized eggs just the way I like them.
Worried about all that egg Salmonella getting in amongst all your excessive baby junk?
Fear not! remember this IS a steriliser after all...
A highly recommended product for eggs, read other reviews on how it copes with sterilising boring plastic baby junk..! |
Love It!

Bought one of these in year 2005 for my son and now using it for my daughter. I love it. I use it to sterilize bottles, pacifiers, breast milk storage containers, even the breast pump. It can fit in a lot more than if you were to sterilize through boiling in a pot. I like that:
1) You only need to press a button and it will turn off when it's done
2) It cools down very quickly so you can handle the bottles using your bare hands |
