Pros
Nice sharp pictures. Colour very good. Flash does not bleach faces like my old Sony used to. Overall very nice.
Cons
The buttons are far too small on top. They need to be twice as big. No zoom on the video, but I did know that before I purchased. Smile function is fun but seems to have a mind of it's own and works intermittently. I have changed the settings to no avail. Only takes Sony memory cards, but I just used the one from my retired Sony. Don't get obsessed with Mega Pixels. My old 6M Sony gave just as good definition as this 12M version.

Be care of the delivery - I got a broken one!

I received a damaged one - I recived the delivery at 9:50 on Saturday Monday 19th July, opened the package at 10am, read and follow the instrauctions: trying to inset the wraist strap, and found with shock that there is no bar in the slot - with another close look, I found it's simply broken.
Actually I also noitced that there is no transparent memberane either that should have covered the LCD.
I am concerned and deeply unhappy with what I was delivered - I have reason to believe that this new camera is not only a second-hand item but also could be a one that was dropped on the ground by somebody else since the bar for waist strap is obviously broken!
I need it for the holiday on next Wednesay 21 July, but now I only have 3days and have to spend double money in buying one from shops. I have asked for a quick refund asap from the seller. So be very careful and cross your finger before you open the delivery, especially you don't have too much free time to bother with them.
However, to be honest, I spend hundreds poundss in Amazon every a few months and this is the first time in the past 8-9 years that I feel really let done by the online shopping. |

Bought this 3 months ago to replace a 5 year old Olympus and very impressed so far. Quality of pictures is great for a camera of this tpye both indoors and outside, looks very sleek with its polished body and quality of video is excellent. The provided osftware also makes it a doddle to upload from the camera to the PC and to review photos. Lots of photo modes but most of the time I get perfectly good quality just keeping it on easy mode and letting it do the work. Only thing it lacks for me is zoom ability in video mode and also note that if you want to see the high quality video on the TV you need to but a seperate HDMI cable (altough there is a standard quality cable included). Overall can thouroughly recommend for an enthusiastic amatuer like myself.

| I recently upgraded from a 6 year old Sony Cybershot 5MP, and have been pleased with the results. Same easy to use menu, good quality pictures. Much better at taking shots into the sun, with good results. The 'smile detector' is interesting-it does work-I dont know how. |
