I thought I'd wait a few months before reviewing this - after all it might work well for the first few hoovers and then die on me. In the end it's been over a year, but that means you benefit from the knowledge that a year on it's still working fine for me and I'm happy with my purchase!
Good points:
1. Good suction for a smallish machine - and this is after all why I bought it!
2. Bagless. I've always had bags, so this is still novelty. Also kind of freaky to see what is hoovered, especially from matresses....
3. Good set of attachments, including a smaller head - mini-me in our house - which is good for doing the stairs.
4. Easy as pie to use. I know no hoover can be that difficult, but it's easy enough to detach bits and adjust height.
5. Small and easy to store.
Bad points:
1.Heavy - I agree with other reviewers, it was heavier than I expected.
2.I'd like the cord to be longer - it doesn't seem long enough to me as it barely reaches from the top to the bottom of our stairs (we do have a dog-leg)
All in all a good purchase. |

| Hoover is pretty good. Dyson have a good reputation and comes with 5 year guarantee. Addition attachments (mattress tool and car cleaning kit) should be included as the hoover is pretty expensive compared to rivals. My previous hoover made a lot dust while hoovering, this one is much better, especially as my partner has problems with dust. Being able to open the dust compartment without it going everywhere is nice, but it still needs to be wiped inside once in a while. If you don't have a lot of carpeted floors, then a less expensive hoover would probably be comparable. |

This machine is everything you would want in a vacuum cleaner. Powerful suction, bag less and easy to store. I would recommend it to anyone, no problem.

I'm delighted with my Dyson and its cleaning power. It's easy to put together and has great suction power.
This is a 4 star product for me because I think there's still room for improvement.
On the up side. Good attachments which store easily. Excellent switching between carpets and wooden floors - dead easy, and the real reason why I bought the model in the first place. The wrap around hose really does wrap around and stays in place - I had visions of the whole thing unswirling and pulling half the other things out of the cupboard with it, but that doesn't happen. The emptying mechanism works well - much better than my previous Dyson, which was an 01, first model (I like to get my gadgets early!) Looks great. Is really compact and neat. Love the purple.
An on/off switch on the extension hose handle would be a big plus. You have to abandon the vacuum somewhere to go back and stand on the off switch, which seems daft.
There's still a huge draft of air out the side of the machine, which stirs up the dust before you have a chance to sweep it up.
It's heavier than I expected, but still easier to cart around than the 01 was. No hoover in my house will ever die from over-work, but I have found myself getting this one out of the cupboard more often than before. |
