Aerobed as a company is worse than useless

I ordered my Aerobed directly from their website and what follows is my experience with them. It might not apply when buying through Amazon - because I have had a flawless experience dealing with the latter over the last several years and not a bad word to say about them - but it might well do when you need after-care or service. This review is not about the quality of the bed.
I bought my bed from Aerobed in July for a friend due to visit 2 days later. I paid an extra fee for next day delivery. Having realised that I was taking a big risk if it wasn't delivered in time I cancelled the order 2 hours later via email and went to John Lewis to buy one in person.
No one from Aerobed replied to any of my 4 emails over a 6 day period asking for confirmation of the cancellation and refund. On the 7th day they confirmed the order was cancelled and a refund would be issued.
No refund was forthcoming.
I then sent another 3 emails asking for a refund and it wasn't until another 8 days later I had an email from the company to apologise for the poor service. Still no refund though. They now wanted their bed to be returned, which would have been easy had they delivered the bed in the first place.
So, no bed and no refund, and getting a reply out the company has been nigh on impossible. It has now been 17 days and I am still trying to get my refund. |
No better than a regular inflatable mattress

| This product is well presented (nice box and a cute little bag), but it is no better than any other inflatable mattress. if you've found other inflatable mattresses uncomfortable/unsatisfying, then do not buy! you won't have a better night's sleep on this. also if you are thinking about taking this camping, then forget about it. it can only be filled via an in-built pump that must be connected to the mains (no battery or car-adaptor), and the cable is less than two metres long. you will be carrying your empty/partially deflated mattress to mains socket by the toilet block, refilling it, and then trying to squeeze it back into your tent. what a hassle. the extra cost for your Aerobed is being spent on slick marketing and nothing else. A waste of money. |
Hassle-free spare bed that stores well

| Fast delivery brought this blow-up bed in time for our short-notice visitors. Very comfy and a good height, the bed blows up and deflates quickly. It is easy to store. I wanted to select the best value bed that was reasonably comfy. I would recommend this for guest bed use. |

| really easy to put up and even easier to put down. really good bed, comfy etc. only one complaint is that despite using the cover provided, and then sheets, winter duvet etc... all people having slept on it complained of feelng really cold. this was rectified with a more substantial 'ground sheet' either lying on another duvet, or a camping sheet but i was a bit disappointed that this had not been sorted within the sheet provided. no regrets however on buying the bed. also bought a single aerobed for my son aged 3. The cover provided here seems much more insulated and he hasnt gotten cold at all. |
