I bought this gps watch so as to record my truck sales rides, it does a great job since it manages to record 12 hours straight.
The accommodating software has Google Earth export that is a plus.
It's lightweight so it's quite convenient to wear for everyday use although it's not meant for that. It's a bit bulky so you'll get questions regarding the use of it. |

Bought this item for husbands birthday.
He is not a technical wizard and has no problem working this out and has aided him in his training. Easy to use functional and does exactly what it says.
Exceeded his expectations. |

| A great bit of kit for the amateur runner/jogger. Logs loads of details and you can link into Google Earth to follow your progress. |

Purchased this item to use solely for running - I already own a garmin etrex vista which I use for biking, hill walking and geocaching but I wanted something smaller and lighter to use while running instead of carrying my etrex in my hand.
This does exactly what I bought it for, logs all relevant GPS data - speed, time moving, time stopped, distance, inclines etc. as well as giving you useful feedback while running - particularly the pace feature (gives you your speed but in time/mile rather than miles/time if that makes sense).
I havent bothered using any of the 'personal training' features which to me look a little gimicky although others seem to have reviewed them favourably.
Also very useful is the fact it charges via USB / mains adapter rather than using batteries.
In summary excellent for running / cycling in terms of recording data, but not suitable for navigation / geocaching.

I recently bought one of these after much deliberation and I could not be more pleased with it. It does everything I had hoped it would do and more!! If you're thinking about buying one, get it now!
Knowing my pace and distance at any time has already made a real difference to my running. It's helping me to manage my pace, slowing down when I'm going off too fast and speeding up when I'm flagging, and I reckon it will take minutes off my times!
It's got loads of other features as well which I haven't even begun to explore. But so far I've ammended the screens to get exactly the info I want, so on screen one I have time, distance, current pace, average pace. And on screen 2 I have calories burnt and paused time (there are more screens I can have and loads of other bits of info available but I haven't got to those yet) and I've set it to alert me at every mile, and alert me if my pace drops below a certain level.
My eyesite's not great so I was a bit worried about whether the screens would be big and clear enough to read on the run, but it couldn't be clearer or easier really. The initial setup screens when you get it out of the box were a little bit fiddly I thought, but once you've got it set up you never need to go into those screens again.
I thought about buying the 305 but I'm not interested in heart rate so the 205 does everything I need
This is an amazing bit of kit. Get it! |
